I have a B&N ISBN. On the product Label example on page 22 of the B&N carton spec & labeling guidelines in Zone 3 there is the ISBN-13, the ISBN-10 and also the barcode with another number of (01)19781234567894. On the ISBN13- 978123456789-7 and the barcode is 19781234567894. Why does one end in 7 and the other end in 4?

Abstract:

The last digit in the ISBN-13 (978-1-234-56789-7) and the barcode (19781234567894) is called a check digit. The check digit is computed from a mathmatical formula based on all the previous numbers. As you will notice, the barcode has an extra digit in front, the number 1. This extra number the will change the check digit from a 7 to a 4.

The NonBook Label page in StarCode will not let me enter an EAN.

Abstract:

The UPC/ISBN field, on the NonBook Label tab in StarCode, can only accept a 12 digit UPC or a 10 digit ISBN. You do not have to enter the EAN because Swing Labels will calculate that number when the labels are printed.

I placed an online order. How can I make sure the order went through? I still have not received my fax confirmation.

Abstract: StarCode does not print Barnes & Noble labels. StarCode is an order form that you fill out and submit. From the submitted data Swing Labels will print the Barnes & Noble labels that you need.

I am trying to order labels for B&N.com and am stuck at the Department line. There is no department listed on the PO and I am not sure how to proceed. Can you help. Also, they do not have the $$ amount listed that they are selling the product for, do I need this?

For the B&N.com Item label enter 0 for the department number.

For the B&N.com Product Label enter $0.00 for the price. The price is not printed on B&N.com labels.

These are noted issues for StarCode version 1.02 and will be addressed in the next release.

On the Shipping Label page, it asks for package ID and lists 904s, etc. What is that? How do I know the package ID?

I have multiple ship to addresses. Can I enter, then various ship to addresses in the billing window?

The current version of StarCode, v1.02, cannot handle multiple ship to addresses. There are two ways to get around this. 1.) Create a new order for each address. 2.) Call us and we can can make the necessary shipping changes. We are currently working to get this feature into the next release.
